South Dakota Spring Turkey Hunt

Over the years, we have been asked by multiple pheasant hunters if we can offer a turkey hunt on West River Bluffs, as this 7,000 acre farm is simply chocked full of turkeys. Well, after much asking we decided to offer a trip for the 2011 spring hunting season.

This hunt is structured the same as our wildly successful pheasant hunts - three days of hunting and four nights of cabin lodging on an unguided basis for $595 per person.  The landowner will meet the group, show them around the farm then let them hunt on their own.  It is a great experience, a lot of fun and a fantastic way to get out hunting in the spring.  If you haven't turkey hunted in South Dakota in the spring, you should make this the year to try it.

The season runs from April 2,2011 to May 22, 2011. Due to the difficulty in obtaining shotgun tags for this unit we are offering this hunt as an archery-only hunt as archery tags are 100% guaranteed and unlimited (however you still have to apply).  We test hunted the adjoining farm three times in recent years with groups as large as a dozen and even with archery equipment the hunters were 99% successful! Like we said, the number of turkeys are astounding.

The application process is simple. Drop us an email or call and we will walk you through the application. While the drawing has no deadline and is considered an unlimited unit, please allow 7 to 10 days prior to your hunt to apply and receive your license.  If you already apply in South Dakota for turkey and have preference points established, let us know as you may stand a good chance of drawing a coveted shotgun tag for this unit. If you draw a tag shotgun hunts are the same price.
